West Central Neighborhood is the directly connected to downtown. It’s also widely known as Birthplace of Route 66! West Central offers a variety of stately Victorians, quaint bungalows and loft apartments. Walkable amenities abound with sidewalk cafes, coffee shops, breweries and impressive downtown investments including Hotel Vandivort, the Heer’s Building and the Vecino Group’s four historic loft renovations on Park East.

Missouri State University has a strong West Central presence with a thriving international student population, urban research park (IDEA Commons), and alumni center. West Central is a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity. Young professionals continue to be attracted to downtown’s vibrancy, and employees of downtown businesses can find plenty of housing choices from impressive lofts to historic single family homes.
