“Revival is a return to the kind of painting I know best, but with a new focus. One that is quieter and more open to what comes next. Color and composition play an important part in this series. The way a hue can shift a mood, the way a shape can hold both weight and lightness. These series of paintings are not a full return to the past, but a careful “Revival” of what feels alive in my work” – Bret Neathery
