Xurros (pronounced churros) was born when founder and owner Eddie, studied abroad in Barcelona and fell in love with all of the xurrerias who exclusively sold xurros. Coming back to Springfield, Missouri, Eddie told his brother Jorge about his idea, and they traveled back to Spain together to take xurro-making classes.
The name, Xurros, is paying homage to Spain where xurros are spelled with an “x” instead of “ch”. Their original xurro, The Barcelona, is dusted with sugar pairing with a chocolate dipping sauce, reminiscent of the xurros you would find in Barcelona.
