Tsarry Night is a Russian Imperial Stout that has been in our winter line-up at SBC since 2014. Its black-as-night hue comes from a blend of roasted barley, chocolate malt, and dark crystal malt. We then patiently aged this stout in Bourbon barrels from Ty Iechyd Da Distillery and Heaven Hill Distillery since March to pick up the beautiful complexities of spirit and oak. We then added mounds of cocoa nibs from Askinosie Chocolate (located on C Street) along with Tahitian and Madagascar vanilla beans. Finally, we added a healthy shot of dark roasted coffee from our friends at The Coffee Ethic (located in Downtown Springfield, MO). The result is a rich 9% beer that is decadently drinkable with layered notes of coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and stout.
