Enjoy the natural beauty of Jordan Valley Park and discover how literature and greenway innovation strengthen community connection and identity

Learn how SGF’s “UnGap the Map” Initiative is creating a connected trail system to enhance community well-being, connect residents to nature, and play into the guiding principles of “Quality of Place.” Hear from five regional poets and writers as they reveal how place-based identity influences their writing and share original works that capture the essence of Ozark’s nature, landscape, and culture. Themes will be intertwined with remarks from our EMCEE.

There will be family-friendly, hands-on thematic activities after the presentation. Bring your blanket, camping chairs, pets, and picnic spread to make the most of this outdoor experience! Chairs will be provided if needed.

Relax and learn as you immerse yourself in community innovation and creativity!

This event serves as the closing event for Missouri Humanities’ community symposium – “Ozarks Marvels: Innovation for the Common Good.”

*In the case of inclement weather, join us at the Creamery Arts Center in the park, hosted by the Springfield Arts Council.
