Master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock wrote and directed some of the most gripping psychological thrillers in the history of cinema. Before the days of digital special effects, Hitchcock used innovative camera angles and framing, along with ominous musical underscoring, to create a sense of escalating danger and the surreal. In this way, much of the action takes place in the mind of the viewer, rather than on the screen. So what could be more natural than adapting Hitchcock’s stories to radio?

In “Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play,” three early films — “The Lodger,” “Sabotage,” and “The 39 Steps” — are presented as they might have been in the 1940s, with skillful actors, live sound effects and atmospheric music to keep you spellbound! Five actors play dozens of different characters, and vintage commercials add to the fun of this unique production.

Switch on your imagination, tune in to the mysterious and macabre… and have a very “Good Evening!”
