Come out, come out, wherever you are, to AUDITION for the opening Landers Mainstage production of our beloved community theatre’s 2024-2025 90th Emerald Anniversary Season!

Calling all who are ready to embark on a magical journey and bring a timeless classic to life on the Landers stage!  Audition to be a part of an exciting, heartwarming adventure that, under the direction of Beth Domann, with choreography by Josh Inmon and music direction by Clayton Avery, promises plenty of brains, heart, and nerve!

Auditions for Springfield Little Theatre’s mainstage production of THE WIZARD OF OZ will be held July 7-10 at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre (The Judy), 237 South Florence Avenue, Springfield, MO.

Sunday, July 7, 4:00 p.m.–Auditions for CHILDREN Ages 8-13.  CHILDREN Ages 8-13 will be asked to sing Ding Dong the Witch is Dead and will be taught a movement combination.  Please arrive by 3:30 p.m. to complete paperwork.  (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.)

Sunday, July 7, 7:00 p.m.–DOROTHY Auditions.  Any Teen-Adult who would like to be considered for the role of DOROTHY is asked to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to complete paperwork.  (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.)

Sunday, July 7, 8:30 p.m.–Auditions for ADULT NON-SINGING CHARACTER ROLES including Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, Professor Marvel/The Wizard, and Miss Gulch/The Wicked Witch of the West.  Please arrive by 8:00 p.m. to complete paperwork and look over sides for cold readings.  CHARACTER ACTORS will be asked to read from the script.

Monday, July 8, 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 9, 7:00 p.m.–Auditions for AGES 14-ADULT ENSEMBLE and PRINCIPAL ROLES.  Choose either night to attend.  Please prepare a vocal selection less than one-minute in length and bring sheet music.  An accompanist will be provided.  Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to complete paperwork and be prepared to learn a short movement combination with the group right at 7:00 prior to the individual vocal auditions.  (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.)

Callbacks will be held Wednesday, July 10 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Most rehearsals for SLT’s production of The Wizard of Oz will be held Sunday-Thursday evenings between the hours of 7:00-10:00 p.m.  There will also be some Sunday afternoons and there may be other exceptions, such as a Friday night or a Saturday for flight school, pending arrangements with ZFX, the professional stage flight company that SLT has contracted to rig and train our flyers.  The first cast meeting will be held Sunday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m.  (Parents of minors are also required to attend.)

Thursday, September 12, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 13, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 14, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, September 15, 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 19, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 20, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 21, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, September 22, 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday, September 24, 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, September 26, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 27, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 28, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, September 29, 2:00 p.m.

Promotional appearances and special events TBA.  Cast members are expected to be available for ALL tech rehearsals and performances.  No exceptions.

Sunday, June 30 – The Wizard of Oz Audition Workshop for Dorothy hopefuls Teen-Adult and Adult Non-Singing Character Roles – 7:00 p.m. – Nothing to prepare in advance

Monday, July 1 – The Wizard of Oz Audition Workshop for Ages 14 to Adult Ensemble and Principle Roles – 7:00 p.m. – Please prepare a vocal selection less than one minute in length and bring sheet music.  An accompanist will be provided.

Tuition:  $30 (A limited number of scholarships are available if finances are a barrier to participation.  Please call 417-413-2287 to register.)
