Foodie Fun at Rated SGF

March 26, 2018

Rated SGF, downtown Springfield’s brand new film festival, debuts this weekend. Inspired by exceptional things found in unexpected places, Rated SGF is more than just a film festival: It’s an all-day celebration of the things that make Springfield a great place to be. That includes drawing attention to Springfield’s food scene, which is arguably the best-kept secret in the midwest. We’re featuring:

Locally-Brewed Coffee

What’s a film fest without a little caffeination? Our neighbors at The Coffee Ethic are bringing a pour-over station to our local shorts screening. Looking for something a little fancier? You’re just steps away from the area’s best coffee shops.

Next-Level Sweets

We’ll have standard concessions available, but fest-goers looking for something on the artisanal side will have plenty of options. We’ll have Askinosie Chocolate available for purchase at the concessions stand, and the ladies from European Cafe will also be onsite serving up some serious indulgence.

Exclusive Craft Cocktails

We worked with Joshua Widner, the mastermind behind some of downtown’s most iconic cocktail destinations, to craft a cocktail menu exclusively available at Rated SGF. What’s the menu like? You’ll have to buy a ticket to Saturday Church or  A Ghost Story to find out. Not into cocktails? We’ll have beer and wine available, too.

SGF-Centric Popcorn

The mad scientists behind Ozark Mountain Popcorn are cooking up a very special batch for Rated SGF, inspired by some of Springfield’s most iconic flavors. Popcorn will be available throughout the festival.

Craft Beer

Trust us: The official Rated SGF after party will be, as the kids say, lit. After the screenings, we’re heading over to Hotel Vandivort and dishing out Mother’s beer alongside apps from The Order. Ballin’ on a budget? Your after party ticket includes one free drink.
