Giving Tuesday is a great day to take a break from the consumerism of the last few days and take a moment to give back to those doing good in the Springfield community! In Downtown Springfield, there are 23 different nonprofit organizations working to make the world a better place. Scroll through to learn about the great work being done right down the street from you and consider giving to support the community.


The History Museum on the Square

The History Museum on the Square is committed to building and preserving an extensive collection of historical documents and artifacts, as they share stories of the crossroads to engage, educate, and inspire their diverse audience. They strengthen our community’s future by learning about our past and our culture. This Giving Tuesday, consider becoming a 2022 Moon Over the Mother Road Patron. With a donation of $200 or more you’ll receive admission to the museum a full year for two named adults and all children under 18 in a household (or two named adults and their grandchildren), four guest passes, discounted and free programs and/or exclusive events, 10% discount in the museum gift shop and more! Sculpture Walk Springfield

Sculpture Walk Springfield is an initiative aimed at creating a museum without walls with access to all, by displaying quality sculptures in public places in Springfield on an annually rotating schedule. Public art has proven itself to play a major role in rejuvenating public spaces and local economies in places as diverse as Chicago, Illinois and Asheville, North Carolina. So this organization is working to encourage such an artistic transformation of Springfield through outdoor sculpture, thus enhancing our quality of life and promoting economic vitality. This Giving Tuesday, you can support their 8th Collection Campaign. Sculpture Walk Springfield’s placemaking efforts next year will include international artists, artists from throughout the USA, as well as local artists and they need your support to make this possible. Community Foundation of the Ozarks

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ mission is simple: to enhance the quality of life in our region. They do so through resource development, community grantmaking, collaboration and public leadership — connecting passion to purpose since 1973. Convoy of Hope

As a humanitarian, faith-based organization, Convoy of Hope’s goal is to serve people who are impoverished, hungry and hurting. They do this through a Children’s Feeding program, Disaster Services, Community Events, Agriculture programming, Women’s Empowerment work and Rural Initiatives across the world. Geek Foundation

The Geek Foundation is a women-led nonprofit offering tuition-free, accelerated education to diversify the tech industry. They are working to change the face of tech by removing barriers that exist for women and people of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. For the tech industry, diversity is linked with innovation and business performance. If we want new ideas and forward-thinking solutions, we need more people at the table. Good Dads

Good Dads is the only organization in Southern Missouri focused on helping all dads be more engaged with their children. It began when business leaders in Springfield, Missouri recognized the impact of father absence on child well-being and came together for the purpose of supporting father engagement. Every dad has the capacity to be a Good Dad and the Good Dads organization is here to encourage, equip and empower they to be the best parent they can be. This Giving Tuesday, consider a gift of $25 or more to become a Member of Good Dads for a calendar year. Click here to donate.


Ozarks Food Harvest

One in five children and one in six adults in the Ozarks are food insecure, meaning they aren’t sure where their next meal will come from, and even more families are facing food insecurities because of inflation and high food prices. Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving 270 hunger-relief organizations across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches nearly 50,000 individuals monthly and provides more than 20 million meals annually. This Giving Tuesday, consider helping OFH reach their $60,000 goal by making a donation. Donations up to $15,000 will be doubled, thanks to a match from A-1 Guarantee Roofing, American National and Feeding Missouri. Click here to donate.


United Way of the Ozarks

In the 14 counties across the Ozarks, the lives of thousands of children, adults and families each year are made better thanks to the services of United Way and our nonprofit partners. The United Way of the Ozarks is focused on the big picture — they look at our communities’ challenges, resources and unmet needs and, through their large collaborative network, they help people whose needs can’t be met by a single organization.
