Watch the Springfield Christmas Parade

Jingle bells will be ringing and carolers will be singing as the Springfield Christmas Parade, presented by Penmac, makes its way through Downtown Springfield on December 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. Enjoy floats, marching bands, dancers and more as they travel north on South street, around Park Central Square and east on St. Louis to the Springfield Expo Center.

Meet the Grinch at the Discovery Center

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to learn the Seuss way! Every Saturday and Sunday, December 3-18, 2022, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Get in the holiday spirit with the Discovery Center at A Very Grinchy Christmas! Join the Whobilation and see the Mean One himself while exploring the Center and new holiday activities, all included with general admission.

Fall in love at the Springfield Symphony’s Christmas Concert

Whether it’s being with your loved ones at home for the holidays, or taking your special someone for a walk in a winter wonderland, the Christmas season is brimming with love. The Springfield Symphony will be playing everyone’s favorite holiday tunes that capture the spirit of love and romance of Christmastime for their In Love at Christmas concert on December 10 & 11 at Juanita K. The Historic Gillioz Theatre Presents: It’s A Wonderful Life on December 11 at 3 p.m. Tickets are FREE, but must be picked up at the Box Office. In this Christmas classic an angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. This is a can’t miss holiday event for the whole family!

Get lost in the magic of The Nutcracker

The holidays come alive with Springfield Ballet’s annual production of The Nutcracker. Join Clara and her Nutcracker as they waltz through her dreams of toy soldiers and mice battling, dancing flowers, the Sugar Plum Fairy and more in the Land of Sweets. Sing some carols at The Downtown Church

The Downtown Church is excited to welcome organist Hayden Vaughn for an afternoon of wonderful organ music and Christmas hymns and carols on December 18 at noon. Come for an hour and sing along while enjoying the beautiful decorations in the church.
