Springfield Contemporary Theatre’s (SCT) exceptional group of staff and artists believes that art is for everyone. The theatre serves to create a community-wide dialogue, creating some of the area’s most creative, thought-provoking productions. Those productions just got a lot more accessible with the introduction of the theatre’s new Pay What You Can program.
The program invites patrons to “pay what they can” for any Thursday evening 7:30 performance. According to a recent SCT release, Pay What You Can tickets will be available for purchase on the evening of performances from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. Audiences are required to pay a minimum of just one dollar for tickets, making this a great way to witness some of the area’s most thought-provoking theatre.
There are a few stipulations: Tickets may not be reserved in advance, and they must be purchased at SCT’s Box Office. Tickets also may not be purchased in the 10-minute window before showtime to help ensure performances will begin on time.
SCT is kicking off its 24th season this summer with “A Grand Night For Signing: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.” See the theatre’s full schedule here.
